These Conductive Boots are designed to provide low electrical resistance to enable linemen to perform Live Line work in an area of equalized potential. The boot is made from full grain leather and has a conductive rubber sole. A protective patch of leather over the inside eyelets give protection when climbing towers, and increase the life of the boot. A braided copper strap runs internal to the boot construction; this must be connected to the conductive suit via the cable which is situated at the back of the heel. The boots are ankle height with a safety boot structure. There is no inner sole installed so as to ensure an equal potential zone. They are to be use with conductive socks.
† This boot was designed in close association with the Live Line personnel of Eskom, South Africa, to meet the requirements of their Specification DDT-12001. They have been used extensively since 2001.
† The boots have passed all the required tests conducted by Eskom in line with Standard IEC 60895.
