HOW SHADE SAILS WORK

Because it's not held up with a frame, the design of the sail is crucial in that it needs curvy sides to tension, these curves are worked out at ±7% of the width of a side, so that when we start to tension it, the curves try to force its way outwards to tighten up the centre of the sail, curves are essential to avoid ending up with a sagging shade cloth look. The poles are planted into the ground at a depth of around 700mm to 1000mm and are usually set at 75-degree angle, to ensure the base of the structure is solid and so that the pole don’t flex under the extreme tension of the shade material.

TECHNICAL DATA - FROM STAINLESS STEEL TO UV STABILIZED TREAD

Our shade sails are made with the best netting material available and we only use the finest stainless steel hardware. The material has a UV blocking of 95-98% with shade factors up to 90% and has an extensive 8-year warranty on deterioration, meaning the material has a life span of up to 10 years

Our stainless steel turnbuckles and D shackles are marine grade 316 stainless steel and will never rust of weather, perfect for coastal areas and are strong enough to withstand even the harshest conditions.
