This disclaimer applies to the website operated by Zani Distribution Industries (Pty) Ltd, trading as ZDI, at www.zdi.co.za.

It explains the use of website information and related content. Purchases are also governed by the applicable Terms & Conditions of Sale and the order-specific information agreed before the sale.

General website wording does not override an expressly agreed product specification or a mandatory legal requirement.

2. ZDI’s Role as a Distributor

ZDI supplies PPE, safety footwear, protective clothing, uniforms and related products manufactured by third parties.

Product information may originate from manufacturers, suppliers, catalogues and supporting documentation. Our role as a distributor does not automatically remove responsibility for information we publish or goods we supply.

Please raise product concerns with ZDI. We may involve the manufacturer or supplier when investigating, without requiring you to abandon any claim you may have against ZDI.

3. Product & Website Information

We aim to provide clear and accurate descriptions. Product ranges, availability and manufacturer specifications may change, and website errors can occur.

• Confirm the exact product code, size, colour, material and required performance before ordering.
• Ask for current documentation where a technical detail is material to your purchase.
• Tell us about a specific intended purpose or requirement before we recommend a product.
• Report suspected errors so we can investigate and correct or clarify the information.

We will not treat this disclaimer as permission to supply materially different goods or disregard an agreed description. Material corrections affecting an order will be communicated and addressed in accordance with the agreement and applicable law.

General articles, guides and website answers are not a substitute for an individual workplace assessment or specialist advice where needed.

4. Standards, Certification & Specification References

Compliance claims must be assessed for the particular product, model and intended application. A brand name, category heading or standards reference does not establish that every item in that range holds the same certification.

• Request the relevant datasheet, declaration, test report or certificate before purchasing where the requirement is material.
• Check that documents identify the product supplied and cover the standard or performance level your organisation requires.
• Do not assume that a standards reference means independent certification, local approval or suitability for every use.
• ZDI does not represent itself as an independent testing laboratory or certification body.

Customer verification does not excuse inaccurate claims made by ZDI or remove applicable obligations relating to product compliance.

5. PPE Selection, Suitability & Safe Use

Appropriate PPE depends on the actual hazards, exposure, work environment and wearer. Selection should follow a competent risk assessment and applicable workplace requirements.

• Check the required protection level and the limitations of the specific product.
• Consider fit, sizing and compatibility with other equipment.
• Follow manufacturer instructions for use, inspection, cleaning, storage and replacement.
• Provide appropriate training and any required fitting or testing.
• Stop using damaged, suspect or unsuitable equipment and obtain appropriate advice.

PPE should form part of the relevant workplace safety controls. Product sales information should not be treated as a completed site-specific safety assessment.

These responsibilities do not transfer every product risk to the purchaser or exclude responsibility for unsafe goods, defects, misleading advice or inadequate warnings where the law imposes liability.

ZDI does not claim ownership of third-party material merely because it appears on this website. We can grant permission only where we hold the necessary rights.

You are not required to obtain manufacturer approval before notifying ZDI. We do not reserve a blanket right to ignore legal notices or defer action solely because a manufacturer has not responded.

This contact process does not replace a formal legal procedure or extend a legal deadline.

10. External Links & Third-Party Services

The website may link to manufacturers, couriers, payment providers and other external services. Those services operate under their own terms and privacy information.

We do not control every external page or guarantee its continued availability. A link alone is not an endorsement of all its content.

This does not exclude responsibility for ZDI’s own representations or obligations relating to services arranged as part of your purchase.

11. Website Availability & Security

Maintenance, technical faults and events outside our control may affect website access. We cannot promise uninterrupted operation.

If the website is unavailable, contact our team by email or WhatsApp. A technical interruption does not itself cancel an accepted order or remove an existing customer right.

• Do not attempt unauthorised access or interfere with the website’s operation.
• Do not submit malicious software or another person’s information without an appropriate lawful basis.
• Independently verify unexpected requests to change payment details through an established ZDI contact.
• Do not send payment-card security codes, passwords or banking access credentials through ordinary email or WhatsApp.

Security precautions requested from customers do not remove legal obligations imposed on ZDI regarding its own systems or conduct.

12. Legal Rights & Liability

Where applicable, consumer rights concerning quality, safety, defects, delivery and remedies remain available. Manufacturer policies and supplier decisions do not automatically replace those rights.

We do not apply a blanket exclusion for injuries, product failures, third-party descriptions or goods lost in transit. Responsibility must be assessed against the facts, the agreement and applicable law.

Delivery risk, optional insurance, returns and warranties are addressed in the applicable Terms of Sale . This page does not introduce a separate rule transferring all courier risk to customers.

Any proposed transaction-specific limitation must be lawful, clearly explained and brought to the customer’s attention as required. Simply publishing this page is not treated as proof of informed acceptance of every possible limitation.

13. Product Safety Concerns & Recalls

If you suspect that a supplied product is unsafe, stop using it where continued use could cause harm and contact ZDI promptly with the product code, batch details if available, purchase reference and a description of the concern.

We will assess the report, involve relevant suppliers or authorities where appropriate, and take action required by applicable law. This may include customer notifications, stopping supply or supporting a recall.

Our response is not automatically conditional on a manufacturer first accepting responsibility. Follow any applicable safety or recall instructions.

14. Personal Information

Enquiries, orders and website interactions may involve personal information. Depending on the service, relevant information may need to be provided to payment processors, couriers, suppliers or other service providers.

If a provision is unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining lawful provisions continue to apply to the extent possible.
